    The Mayan people made a great impact in the history of Mexico and Guatemala; a culture that has been inherited through generations and still lives today in the towns of the land of the Maya. A wonderful tour, this experience gets you close and personal with the Maya: live their history in ancient archaeological sites, share with them in small community visits, and witness their daily lives local markets.

    Itinerary

    Day 1 - Yucatán community experience

    Depart Cancun and travel into the Yucatán interior to visit a Maya community. Spend the day engaging with local traditions, daily life, and cuisine. The experience offers an immediate and personal introduction to the region.

    Day 2 - Chichen Itza and Señor

    Visit Chichen Itza early in the day, exploring its key structures with context and depth. Continue to the community of Señor for a more intimate cultural exchange. The day bridges ancient history with present-day life.

    Day 3 - Toward Guatemala

    Travel south, crossing into Belize and onward into Guatemala. The journey itself becomes part of the experience, transitioning between regions and cultures. Arrive in Flores for the evening.

    Day 4 - Tikal and Antigua

    Explore Tikal, where monumental structures rise above the jungle canopy. In the afternoon, continue by air and road to Antigua. The shift from rainforest to colonial city adds contrast to the journey.

    Day 5 - Antigua and surroundings

    Discover Antigua through a guided exploration of its streets, architecture, and cultural landmarks. Visit a coffee farm and gain insight into local production. The day balances history, culture, and landscape.

    Day 6 - Chichicastenango and Atitlán

    Visit the vibrant market of Chichicastenango, one of the most dynamic in the region. Continue to Lake Atitlán, arriving in the afternoon. The setting introduces a new, more tranquil environment.

    Day 7 - Lake Atitlán

    Explore the lake by boat, visiting communities along its shores. Each village offers a different perspective on local life and tradition. The pace remains relaxed and immersive.

    Day 8 - Return to Mexico

    Travel back into Mexico, arriving in San Cristóbal de las Casas. The change in geography brings a cooler climate and a distinct cultural atmosphere.

    Day 9 - Highlands communities

    Visit nearby indigenous communities, gaining insight into traditions, rituals, and daily life. Experiences are approached with context and respect, offering meaningful understanding.

    Day 10 - Toward Palenque

    Journey through Chiapas toward Palenque, stopping at rivers and waterfalls along the way. The landscape becomes more tropical and lush. Arrive in the afternoon.

    Day 11 - Palenque

    Explore the archaeological site of Palenque, set within dense jungle surroundings. The experience is both historical and atmospheric. Time to absorb the setting at a comfortable pace.

    Day 12 - Campeche

    Continue to Campeche, a coastal colonial city. Enjoy a guided walk through its historic center and fortified walls. The atmosphere shifts once again.

    Day 13 - Uxmal and Mérida

    Visit Uxmal, known for its refined architecture and quieter setting. Continue to Mérida, where you will explore the city’s elegant streets and plazas.

    Day 14 - Cenotes

    Spend the day exploring cenotes near Mérida, each offering a different setting and experience. The day is relaxed and focused on nature.

    Day 15 - Ek Balam and departure

    Visit Ek Balam, a lesser-visited site offering a more intimate experience. Continue to Cancun for departure.
